Hi i am starting a journey to try and stop drinking or at least drastically cut down. Looking for support
Alcohol addiction : Hi i am starting a journey to... - Drink Free
Alcohol addiction
Hi Jp1966, I also drink to much and planning to cut down or quit. I try to have alcohol free days . ( Only managed one this week so far) but I have stopped smoking 10 days. I have two weeks from work over Easter and plan to stop then. Good luck to us both
I have an app on my phone to record how much I drink. It then produces a calendar of red/amber/green days depending on how much I have had to drink each day. Lots of other useful stuff on the app too. I find it really useful and it does help to motivate me
Hi Carmen25, Sound interesting what's the app called ? Have a nice day 😄
It’s called Drinkless”. It also shows you how much you drink compared with other people in your age group and gender. Both total number of people and people who drink alcohol. I was at 95% when I started which really shocked me. I was lucky because the university that developed it was doing a free trial and even paid me (in Amazon vouchers) for testing it. I don’t know if it’s available on the market. Other apps are but I haven’t tried those. I don’t currently plan to stop drinking completely but it has given me a much more healthy relationship with alcohol.Have a lovely day.
I did get it on the app store but it said it was an older version and wouldn't work on my phone , But thanks for taking the time to tell me. Have a nice day as well
Hi grimlock1 I now I can't give up completely but I am trying my best to cut down alot. I have no alcohol left now in house but I do have 1 or 2 pints when I go out with my husband. You will find it really hard as your also giving the fags up . Good luck keep up the good work on giving the fags up. It's hard to give fags up it took me 4 trys but I haven't had a day for 14 years. Keep in touch with us all we are all here to help each other

Oh, I hope you really get over your alcohol addiction. In general, I think that if you understand that your condition is serious, then you should seek help from specialists.
