Hi Jp1966, I also drink to much and planning to cut down or quit. I try to have alcohol free days . ( Only managed one this week so far) but I have stopped smoking 10 days. I have two weeks from work over Easter and plan to stop then. Good luck to us both

I have an app on my phone to record how much I drink. It then produces a calendar of red/amber/green days depending on how much I have had to drink each day. Lots of other useful stuff on the app too. I find it really useful and it does help to motivate me

It’s called Drinkless”. It also shows you how much you drink compared with other people in your age group and gender. Both total number of people and people who drink alcohol. I was at 95% when I started which really shocked me. I was lucky because the university that developed it was doing a free trial and even paid me (in Amazon vouchers) for testing it. I don’t know if it’s available on the market. Other apps are but I haven’t tried those. I don’t currently plan to stop drinking completely but it has given me a much more healthy relationship with alcohol.Have a lovely day.

Oh, I hope you really get over your alcohol addiction. In general, I think that if you understand that your condition is serious, then you should seek help from specialists.
