I had a stroke in January 2016 which affected my left side. I have been fortunate to have almost made a full recovery but have been left with a very uncomfortable foot, feels as if I have pins and needles 24/7. Has anyone else had or got this, any advice would be greatly received.

I think it's probably best going back to your neurologist.

The other thing is that brain injury is really slow to heal.

I do have pins and needles but it's more diffusion, rather than one foot.

Hi Susie and welcome,

I've had 7 Tia's now. Each has left its mark but I found a determination not to let Stroke win, helps enormously! I have pins and needles in my little and the next toe on my left foot plus other dead places around my body! Its just a classic sign of nerve damage which may disappear in time as new pathways within the brain are formed as I refuse to change my habits and as such force my body to return to as normal as possible! I lead a normal life and do not await the next attack or the one which I know is coming to end my time here. Stay focussed on being normal and doing what you always have and it becomes a case of mind over matter! Weare a mind with a body, not a body with a mind. The body is a slave we use for a period of years until we wear it out, however like a slave well treated, it will last longer with kindness. I also have hypersensitivity to medication, basically, medication in my case is equally at risk of triggering a major stroke as controlling a minor one, so I cope without!
