I have been trying to obtain dialysis for one or two sessions away from home in other parts of the UK but find it extremely difficult. I have now discovered that the main problem is the closure of dialysis units on Sundays and even Saturday evenings and restricting dialysis to local people on certain days or only accepting 'holiday dialysis' patients who need three sessions and not just one.I feel heavily restricted in my movements because the dialysis units are working to genteel office hours.

Haemodialysis is a hospital ward and they should operate every day of every week with staff working on a shift basis, just like the shop-workers and many others and just like they do on the continent..
