I have been on hemo-dialysis for 3 years. Got on a transplant list in April 2023. Can anyone help me to figure out how to find a living donar ? I know there are many nice people who want to do living donation but want to remain silent does anyone know how to sign up for this community ?

Thank you

Yes I can relate. I'm now 65 in my 22nd year of dialysis snd spent nearly 10 years listed. Never did get a transplant. The older I get, the more complications pop up to muck up my healthy status. I believe most centers want the best, healthiest listed. Do a search for Harvey Mysel. He provides more tips to find a living donor. Blessings

Thank you for the great information. I will check it out. I really hope @ pray that you will get a lifesaving transplant. You really deserve one. I wish you a beautiful holiday season and may all your dreams come true. God bless you @ your family.

It's not a matter of "deserving." I am not currently listed. At the moment I'm not listed and I've pretty much decided not to re-list. I've lived over 2 decades on dialysis, another 10-20 years will put me in my mid 70's to mid 80's....not a bad life really. For me, dialysis has been lifesaving. Blessings

I think that is a choice we all have to make on a decision for our life, but for me already knowing what it's like to feel " Normal " again. To be able to drink fluid without gilt, not having your phosphorous so dangerously high and have a job without worrying about doing dialysis 4x week. To me it's called freedom and I am pursuing happiness. God bless and Happy holidays.☮️

Absolutely a very personal choice. I have none of those restrictions so it's an easy choice. I've many friends listed get transplants, many still waiting. Many others chose not to list. All had their own personal reasons, most very unique. Yes, I think we all pursue happiness along this crazy journey.

Thank you and Blessings for you.

Have to tried asking family and friends? If they match you tell your transplant team. If they don't, they might consider the paired transplant list. Your tell will have all the details.
