Fistula bracelet

Hi all

Just a quick question I have had the first of my two stage procedure for my fistula and was wondering if any of you had been advised to have a medical identification bracelet to warn people that I have a fistula and not to use the arm.

If so where did you get it from?

Hi Charlene,

You should be able to get a rubber band which has printed on it "no needles, no blood pressure", usually supplied from your hospital renal clinic.

Amazon...then search no blood pressure bracelets...and u will get all options...but u know if u on facebook, they have different options as well. Good luck.

Alot of time sniff u have a facebook page, and u are signed up with certain groups, they tell u how to get cups, shirts, wrist bands, medical bracelet and everything....another good site to go to is Etsy.com. I hope this info helps u.

Hi My unit gave me a bracelet (like the charity ones) to wear when out and about. It is red and has NO BP NO IV PROTECT FISTULA on it.

But as you don't say where you're from I'm not sure whether you can get a free one.

Thanks I'm from swindon but they only have a satellite clinic so my hospital is Oxford.

I was given anything after the operation but don't know if I would be when I have it checked.

My unit is also an Oxford satalliet and they issued one says no needle no no this arm fistula

Thanks for the response. I go for a check up at swindon satellite clinic next Friday so will ask them. If not I will check when I go back to Oxford in 6wks time
