Hi
I'm about the same readings as you...
Egfr 10, Creatinine 414.... am having my fistula made today..... different hospitals have different thresholds for action.
When is your next appointment with your nephrologist? Think if I was in your shoes, I would make an appointment and discuss it....
All the best....
Margaret
My creative level is 311 and I have just had my second fistular fitted and by March I am going on diallisis
My scores were far worse than yours before I went onto dialysis. If you have regular appointments with your renal team for bloods etc. then I doubt you are forgotten about. You can always ask them what's likely to happen over the next few months when you next meet them.
For me..it wasn't so much my 'scores on the doors' that ruled the decision, but also how I was getting along and whether the symptoms were becoming a problem.
In summary : ask your renal specialist when you next see him/her. I would only worry if you don't have a regular appointment scheduled.
My husband went right down to 500 and was OK , but soon after he had a real flu , and was very ill so by the next month they fitted an emergency cannula just below his neck as he needed dialysis and had not had his fistula fitted . They had already given him an appointment for fitting the fistula , but the flu did it for him and events took over and he was quite ill . He then recovered and was doing OK but then another set back .
He is still ill , as he got an infection through that cannula which went straight into his spine ( Discitis ) a nightmare and a long story !
