Not necessarily if you are not Type 1 diabetes. Type 2 can be managed with drugs if you are true in your representyation.Get some other doctor and consult him.

If your l sugar lebel is not under control by medicine and sugar continuously higher than normal range. you should follow doctor's advice. Insuline is quite safe , no side effect. sugar control is most important to live happy life.
