Yes. Prolonged high blood sugar levels can damage vagus nerve and will affect digestion. Delayed gastric emptying. Gastroparesis

Then some other issue with digestion.

Nerve testing are specialized tests. suramo can help here.

I don't think there are such direct tests and logic behind such tests. May be done on experimental animals by placing electrodes on the nerve. There is no clinical application.

Yeah he said that my GI motility has increased due to wrong dose of thyroid medicine.
