How long can you manage on empty stomach? You have to eat adequate diet and still manage to keep the sugars under control. If you are on diabetic medicines,it is dangerous to delay taking food after not eating any food for 8 to 10 hours during night. You may face a serious problem of hypoglycemia.

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS, IF I TEST FBS AT 9.00 A.M. INSTEAD OF 7.00 A.M. IN THE MORNING WHETHER THE FBS WILL GO ON INCREASING OR DECREASING.

Not necessarily. My knowledge is limited in this subject, but what I understand is,when the system enters fasting level, the liver releases it's stored reserves to keep the body going. It is OK in the short run,but may result in depletion of muscle tissue in the long run.I hope some body on this forum having knowledge about this subject will respond.

For a diabetic there are chances that it will rise as time passes after you wake up. I personally get a rise of around 5-10 points from my FBS tested immediately after I wake up.

In case of non diabetics the variation will be very small.
