Your fasting level is good but PP is definitely high but not alarming.I think there is no need for medication. You can bring it down with better diet control and regular exercise.Treat your present condition as a warning sign.

Your fasting level is within normal limits.Let me explain that in the morning when one wakes up the stored insulin is release in circulation in the first phase,to counter the release glucose from liver. As your fbs is normal, it indicates that stored insulin is sufficient .But as ppbs is high ,it indicates that second phase ,when beta cells start producing insulin in response to food is not sufficient .Reason may either be reduced insulin production due to small no.of beta cells,or insulin resistance or both.

So,best way to control this pp spike in glucose may be to lower your carb. Intake.Watch for foods which cause these spikes, and try to avoid them or reduce them and watch for bs,using a glucometer .You can do yourself,do it.

When should i check my fasting sugar. the time gap between dinner and testing time, as i have checked my FBS for the last 3 days, it came at 134, 104,137. PPBS was 110 when FBS was 137.

Now, almost after one year my BS fasting is 116 against 93 and PP is 168 against 176. I am conscious about my diet. I am not taking any medicine yet, please advise me.
