You're not told, when you start any of these particularly Rybelsus, that it can interfere with your colonoscopy. Four weeks after starting the medication I was informed that I needed a colonoscopy. I was also told I either needed to stop the medication for at least four weeks prior or suffer the prep from hell (four GALLONS of the white stuff!)
I decided to go for an easier prep which meant stopping the medicine four weeks before. So I did. But I also did the following:
1) The week before, I stopped ALL fiber. This meant no salads, beans, etc., and ALL red meats.
2) Three days before I made sure to stop all meat and went to easy-to-digest foods that did not contain the colors red, orange or purple (check the color wheel!)
3) The day before- prep day- I began prepping in the morning rather than waiting for nighttime and did not use the "flavoring pack". Instead, I mixed the prep powder with the white cherry-flavored G-Zero (so my sugars didn't spike).
Not only did this make prep easier, but the dr. also said my colonoscopy went "slick as a whistle". Not sure that I would have chosen the word "slick" lol but it worked!
Bear in mind though, I had only been taking the 3 mg Rybelsus.
Due to bad reaction to the drug I've opted to not go back on it.
