Lump on gum

I’vehad a lump on my gum which has gone into my teeth.. started really slowly n slightly. Didn’t pay much attention because my neice who is a new dentist said it’s nothing to worry about - it’s an epilus. But now it’s gone so big, dentist appointment is a nightmare and I’ve to try again in the morning to make one. Has anybody experienced this?

I had one similar when I was a teenager, I kept squeezing white stuff out of it. When I did see the dentist for my check up he said it had been an ulcer and I was lucky it didn’t get worse.

It never came back again after it healed.

hi Ellie-Louise I went to the dentist today and unfortunately mines what I feared it would be 🙈. Something called an epulis. Referred me to the hospital to have it removed because it can’t be done at the dentist

I see, so at least you know for sure what it is. I’m wishing you the very best and I hope it sorts it out for you. I’d never heard of it before. x

hi I’m sure you are alarmed. I recently had an abscess on a tooth on the inside gums. Had a lump on the outside of gums here for quite a while also. My dentist did not pay attention to it when I showed him saying the tooth next had had extensive work-a re-route canal. I had my teeth cleaned in January & the dentist checking then made an endodontist spot for me-said the tooth needed to be checked immediately. Turned out the tooth was cracked & needed to be removed & due to severity, needed to be out right away. I saw an oral surgeon for this in February. the tooth still pangs pain every so often healing, & it’s been 5weeks out now

I know your relative is likely right but if this is bothering you I’d recommend seeing a dentist pronto.

I wish you good luck.
