I’m having a filling replaced on Thursday it’s one at the back of my mouth and it’s so old the amagram think that’s what it’s called you know the silver ones .
I’m autistic and I always research anything medical heath wise which I hate because it makes me feel worse .
Am just wondering are dentists qualified too take these out ?
I’ve been reading so much now I feel overwhelmed and upset .
also I’m aware these can cause lots of problems like high mercury level etc but it’s only one that I have and never had any red flags with mercury on bloods.
will I be okay
thanks

hi Natz. As dentists put fillings in they are certainly qualified to take them out and replace them😉. And with regards to mercury in amalgam fillings there are a lot of (rubbish) scare stories out there that people are being poisoned by their fillings. Believe me the mercury content in amalgam is so tiny it has no effect on your body whatsoever.
He never did that tooth , he saw how bad I was my anxiety I was crying so he did a different tooth smaller job . He used the anaesthetic without adrenaline but still didn’t feel right . Felt spaced out , completely exhausted literally slept so well that night .
Am just worried that this isn’t normal so now I’m scared too go back !
I feel like no one listens when I say I react too things but the way it makes me feel is scary .
I’m back in the 23rd of march so will see what he says .
