Hi I have had bruxism over a year now and it’s only getting worse. I’m not stressed I don’t think and this is making me miserable. What can I do to stop?

Perhaps you just need to get a splint made at your dentist? This protects your enamel from grinding and also takes pressure off your muscles if clenching to help alleviate pain. But I would try meditation techniques as well, you may not think you’re stressed but sometimes stress works in mysterious ways.

I had teeth grinding and it was because my teeth didn't line up. Wjen I got a tooth removed I had nothing bashing together to need to grind. You need to go to an orthodontist. You can buy a thing in the chemist like a protecting bite shield..its just a rubbery thing that goes over your teeth and protects them. But long term you need an orthodontist if its not from anxiety its probably from a tooth that needs grinding out of the way.

Thank you for your replies. I currently have braces on, am taking muscle relaxers, have a custom night guard and none of those worked. I got masseter Botox on Friday so fingers crossed that will work.
