Hey! I am a literature student. I have crooked teeth in my lower jaw. I was planning to wear six months braces from a clinic in Ajax. But I am confused! Yesterday I came across a blog listing the food items to be avoided while wearing braces ( discoverydental.com/blog/de... ). I don’t think that I would be able to stay back from the foods I like.
What if I eat some foods that should not be eaten? Will it damage the braces?
Anyone of you had a similar situation?

Ask your orthodontist for advice during your initial consultation. But generally;
Chewy food - you won't be able to eat anyway because the feeling of the food stuck between your braces will put you odd.
Hard or crunchy items - fine, could potentially break a brace, but so can many other things
Whole hard fruits - cut them us (tend to get stuck in braces)
Whole hard vegetables - as above
Off the bone or cob - again, easier to cut off bone as will get stuck between braces & teeth
Avoid eating any kind
