I have severe high frequency loss in both ears and got my first nhs Oticon hearing aids a week ago however am finding that I have a constant shhhh, it’s like the noise a record would make before or after the song played. However this only happens in the right side aid. Is this normal?

I have oticon aids (probably older model than yours) and that is not normal. I would contact them and they can probably fix that.
I have NHS Oticon aids in both ears - one for high frequencies, the other for generic loss (my original). When I was given the one compensating for frequencies, my world of hearing changed, I was a musician. I've never had hearing trouble with either and my tuning improved no end.
No not normal - contact the audiology department!
