At long last it seems I have resolved the problem with my hearing aids not staying connected to iPad and iPhone.

As the problem only started after installing Apple’s new software update, I was convinced that was causing the problem.

I did all the usual google searches. One I came across was a forum, I think from the States. It mentioned problems with Bluetooth. Apparently, the USB for laptop computers can affect your Bluetooth, so move away from it. I did have the cable plugged in to the wall socket behind me and it was left switched on. I moved the laptop and switched off the charger.

My iPad and iPhone connected easily to Resound aids and everything appears to be working.
