Low tone deaf

I seem to be different. I cannot hear cars, or buses, or rain, or electrical appliances when I take my hearing aids out.

I often cannot hear low tone voiced people on the telephone. I am better with high pitched sounds and voices.

I cannot hear the words sung on a cd or radio. I need subtitles on a DVDs.

Am I an odd one out?

Hi Julie, sorry not replied before, only just seen the post. I think whatever hearing disability you have, many problems are the same. I have difficulty with high frequency sounds and have problems hearing on the phone and have to use subtitles on TV. With karaoke I have realised I have been singing the wrong words to songs for years!! All we can do is try help each other and listen to people when they're down. Hope you've had a good weekend

I'm the exact same way. I have Meniere's disease and that tends to affect the low tones the most.
