I hope everyone is staying well both mentally and physically at this difficult time.
As the spread of Covid-19 and the actions we are advised to take accelerate and change daily, I am still unsure if I come under the vulnerable or very vulnerable group. As a result, I an uncertain whether I should be isolating for the full 12 weeks or not.
Thank you Matt for the post you put up a few days ago. I have looked at the links you suggested also.
I have one kidney and the aggressive form of the disease having had numerous surgeries over the years, many of which have been performed by yourself and Kay.
I am told I am classed as stage 3 CKD due to my reduced kidney function.
Most advice understandably is aimed at dialysis or transplant patients.
The kidney care uk website which accessed though the get website advised that people who are stage 3-5 of CKD should isolate for 12 weeks but this is not noted on the government website.
I am aware that letters will be sent to high risk people. I got a text advising that I am on the CKD register and should therefore avoid a long list of medicines but it did not give any advice about if I am classed as high risk or isolation so I know which advice to follow.
I am lucky enough to be able to work from home at present but do not know if I will need to prove that I am in a vulnerable group to my employer at some stage to maintain this especially as we are now effectively on lock down making more people nervous abous travelling to the office when the restrictions are lifted.
Apologies for the very long message and hope you are all ok.
