On optimism, attitude and spotty stuff.....

So why am I insanely cheerful, full of zeal, resilient, motivated etc etc.... (Spotty's still in the wash but the understudy PJ's are less spotty more polka dot and a bit grown up) Well it certainly stems from my up bringing, but that is not the whole story. Maybe its naivety, ignorance, maybe both. Its not denial. I simply don't subscribe to reading things, researching stuff, internet trawling, I don't actually think about PD at all. Seriously. I think about life, my life and how to make it good. Its not as they say a dress rehearsal. Illness or not I want fun, joy, laughter, friendship, challenge, ah yes and that magic word fulfillment. Well having PD doesn't stop any of that, it just makes you go about stuff a little differently. I don't really dish out advice, I can't, I am no expert. But I am a patient and what I know is this. Start having a few successes and you feel so much better. Bake a cake that tastes damn good, then bake another. Write a story for someone to read, they love it, write another. Keep piling up the good things and the bad things don't just fade to grey, they fade away.

Life plan, I keep banging on, but go on, make one.....

It can't hurt, and hey it might just work! Tah Dah....

well I tried to explain a little, based on having small successes. Success after all is the ability to engineer out failure!! So try and do something that gives you reward, makes you feel valued, is good... and then repeat it. It doesn't have to be big, but something you know brings out the best in you. Do something unexpected or something you did years ago and gave up.... sing, draw, cook, dance, garden, record stuff. Pass your knowledge on.... especially if you are loosing a skill, before its too late show some young people how to do it.....

Do let me know if any of this helps.

I just love reading your blogs. You are so positive, you are an inspiration and always cheer me up. Thank you. I have recently started knitting again and find this helps with my tremor, which is always worse of an evening. I also do jigsaws to help with my co-ordination. When I know more about my angina I will exercise again. So am trying to be positive.

I love your attitude. I try to stay positive and upbeat as I move through this new life as well. Wheather we like it or not we have to play the cards we've been dealt for as long as we can. We may not like it and wish things were different but it is what it is........
