arm in the air when I lay on couch?

Had never heard of alien limb syndrome but, while apparently rare, can affect people with neurodegenerative ailments. Learned something new.

I can control my arm without any problems. My wife will tell me my arm is in the air!

My arm, left or right, has wandered straight up at a 90 degree angle when I awaken. I've always wondered about it but never thought that it signified anything until recently having read a couple of remarks such as yours here. This phenomenon began with me at least 20 years before PD showed up--more years until diagnosis. Who knows?

I thank you for your reply! I wandered if it were just me, I've done this for years. I don't hold it up at 90 degree continuously or long periods of time. Again thanks!

I hold both arms up . i do because if I don't I can't get comfy more so in bed. some times woken by my arms smashing into my face lol
