Re the blog on Chinese Miracle.

I do think this obsession we have of curing all disease which we all wish for is really just a fairy tale told by researchers.

Many promises of cures in the near future with stem cell experimentation etc etc which is limited.

If as they say that stem cell therapy could cure so much disease it would mean absolute bankruptcy for many drug companies who at the moment make billions out of long term illness.

Thankfully many common drugs are life saving i.e. Aspirin, but as I live, I am convinced that many drugs though they may help, just cause too many other problems which means we need more drugs to cure the problems. The illness becomes a vicious circle of drug taking.

The problems induced are quite often more intolerable than the original complaint.

This is probably my Cynical mind speaking.

I may be just talking a load of bullshit perhaps.

I agree with you,my dear.The side effects sometimes are worse than the illness. I really do not like taking any kind of drug because of it.We are damned if we do and damned if we dont. We have to do what makes us feel good and live life to the fullest.

Amen brother. I was told years ago by a DOCTOR that if they found the cure for ever illness someone would hide or destroy it because there is no money in curing people. The money is in long term drug treatment. Doctors, nurses and hospitals are all in the treating sick people, take away the sick????? No way!

I agree with your words of wisdom, oldtyke. I think the drugs path, albeit often a necessary one, can cause a lot of additional problems. I am not as cynical as some. I do think a cure will be found - though not in my lifetime. If I don't believe that, what is there left to believe in.

I agree with you. I am determined we will find a cure. At the same time I think modern medicine is barbaric. and the cures are worse than the illness. Aging is no picnic and with pd on top of it,
