Are you on any medication for Parkinsons doggie? I get stiff muscles and ache when my medication has worn off.

I also have arthritis. So my joints hurt all the time from PD and hurt even more when the weather is going to change! Such as storms, rain or snow, cold or hot! Terrible! I take Ibuprohen and Norco (Only when Ibuprophen does not help). Norco then causes constipation!

I was reading this today doggie.

Musculoskeletal pain: This is the most common type of pain experienced by people with Parkinson’s. It comes from the muscles and bones, and is usually felt as an ache around your joints, arms or legs. The pain stays in one area and doesn’t move around your body, or shoot down your limbs.

Exact description! My Neurologist told me it is nothing to do with PD perhaps you have a little Arthritis?

It makes me smile when these people can tell you so much, but give you so little info. obviously not having the complaint themselves. They do not understand what it is like.

This really describes it all. I'm going to print out. So I can show to docs. Tired of trying to explain it. :D Thanks

My body will ache in my legs, shoulders and hands at the same time. Then the next day it's gone I don't know if pain comes and goes such as this. Thanks for your reply!

This sounds like my condition. One neurologist did mention this. So I am now in Occupational therapy and speech therapy. Soon the doc goes down the throat with a camera looking at the vocal cords. Doc suggested pain pills but I elected to remain a Aspirn Back and Body.

Yes I get that type of pain. Mostly in the thighs particularly the load bearing muscles. But the pain is only eveident when those muscles are used.

I get aches and pains too mostly my feet rather than hands.

Maybe it was just an off day for you. You mentioned chills maybe your body is fighting off a cold or something. I find that heat and gentle self massage works. How about you try slowly, gently squeezing a tennis ball or similar to work the hands a little to loosen them up. I smiled when you said "I could hardly lift the menu". I thought to myself at least this person is out and about.

I also take Madopar dispersible and a tiny dose of Baclofen to try and loosen off my feet.

I get those pains when my meds are wearing off, when I"m super fatigued and whenever. My big question now is why do I get dystonia in my obturator internus (!!!! ) after a b.m.? :( Crippling!

Mostly I am when dehydrated or meds wearing off, both my own damn fault! Getting back to "normal" is much more difficult than just doing the next right thing in the first place, but I get too busy or preoccupied or lazy to do it sometimes. I had a bad episode including freezing last week that gave be a good reminder...

Sorry to hear about the freezing! On freezing was this unable to move? I had a very bad episode over the weekend. I believe I miss my 2nd pill of the day. I froze Cold I have never been as cold in my life. I let the dog out and was forced to go to bed to warm up.

Yes, my episode was of the Cannot Move One Way or Another, clutching the edge of the counter, quivering like birch leaves sort of freezing. Never a dull moment in the realm of PD! I am so grateful for our dog Spottie and her patience and empathy!

BTW, I have felt great all day today, no need for a nap, stayed hydrated, got some exercise, and took all my meds right on schedule! Stay safe and be kind to yourself, doggie!

I agree. I'm afraid to drink enough water if I'm away from home, but I Pay the Price!

LOL! I know what you mean, PatV! Poise Pads are my best friend. Urge incontinence and falling, along with tremors, were my first symptoms. Of course, prescription for Oxybutinin wasn't the best way to go in the long run, but had no inkling it was PD for 18 months to 2 years before dx.
