I've heard that wii's are really beneficial and I'm thinking of buying one. Does anyone have any info? Would anyone recommend them?

ya, i agree.... the balance became an issue with me also, but in the beginning it was great! we actually played wii once or twice while in physical therapy. at home i have xbox and i have a really good exercise tape. it has all kinds of exercises to help with balance and coordination. anything from regular exercises to yoga and dancing. it's pretty awesome! i can only play when i am good. can't use as much as before.

Whats is WII?

For some reason makes me think of WWII dont know why

Sorry, us ignorent country folks!

Nintendo Wii is a games console which you can use to virtually play sports, games etc which is said to improve things like balance, coordination & fitness.....

I suppose some could call it self abuse, excuse my wicked sense of humour.

This willl depend upon the game, the reason for playing and of course the oponent. The dog is a good choice for me.

As long as the dog dosen't stop at every lamp post.

I also have a Wii fit and used to use it regularly. However, as I am having problems with pain in hips, back and knee have been advised by physio not to use it at the moment for exercise. Will be using it again when I am given the go ahead. However, she did suggest that I should use the centre of gravity test to ensure that my gait is correct, and/or to help me correct it. I do not have Zumba on my box, so must enquire about this as my daughter teaches Zumba and could give me some tips.
