anyone take madopar and use the neupro patch. how well does it work? thinking about asking doc to switch from sinemet n mirapax.

I do not take the drug madopar and never have. But I did TRY the neuro patch for 24 hours and it did the same thing to me it did years ago, when I tired it, for the same reason they took it off of the market! It started itching immediately! But I left it on for the full 24 hours! Of course, i have never put it on again and that has been about a month ago and I still have a red mark on my arm where it was placed! They say I'm allergic to the adhesive, which I would agree with, partially, but am I wrong, or wasn't that the main reason it was pulled before? You can still see the exact square mark from it one month later and it still itches! I know everyone's bodies react different, so don't go by my experience. Just sharing it with you! FYI! If it itches, remove the patch immediately! Has anyone else had this problem?

I do take Sinemet and I was on Mirapex. I had to stop the Mirapex also because of a reaction! I'm very sensitive to many medications. I take Stalevo and have for years and it is helping me for now!

I had super good luck with the neupro patch UNTIL about 2 weeks ago, mind you I have been using this for 3 months. IT works great until the itching started. The patch replaced the Mirapex, which I do not want to go back on .....ever...... I will email my Doctor today and let you know what they come up with. KADIE

I agree with Kadie. I gained 30 pounds on mirapex (and requip), nauseous, and developed compulsive behaviors. Still have the marks on my ankles that will never go away. I have no experience with patch. I can't even tolerate Stalevo. Only sinemet.

I gain weight and felt strange, had what I call the creepy crawls, plus I had to use a high dosage to get it to work 8 pills a day and sometime that would not work . I love the ease of a patch not having to take pills!!and this works but I had the itch rash just start.

I take Madopar 125mgm x 3 daily plus the Neupro patch 2mgm.

supposed to go up to 8mgm as tolerated, but have not been told to do so yet.

It does itch and often will not stay on especially in the bath as they claim it does.I can't say I feel much different with the Neupro patch but the Madopar does help me especially in the morning .

The thought of upping drug quantities or changing them terrifies me .
