I did a write-up on this 18 months ago: dopadoc.com/2010/11/30/pers...

Not a good experiment I learned the hard way...

I try it . Even when't in to hospital . I was taking about 30 madopar 1`25mg . In the hospital took 5 madopar 125mg after 3 daysj j couldn't move. after 4 days I knew I wasn't going to make it.

Don't even think about it .

I wouldn't stop the madopar. Don't know why you want to titrate off but I would taper off the Requip. Maybe slightly increase the madopar. I'm no doctor, but Requip made me deathly ill.

hi

I'm not taking the same drug as you are, but only recently had to change my medications. I was taking Requip 8mg, but had started to hallucinate, hear voices sleep paralysis,so I had to stop taking it. I reduced the dose right down and started using neupro patch 2mg, a very low dose. Everything seized up, my arm and leg was so tight and heavy, I was dragging my foot. I was muddling my words, my head was swirling, as I increase the dose, the symptoms began to disappear.

I hadn't realised that Requip was helping with my symptoms until I stop taking them !!!!!

good luck and be careful. These are powerful drugs and not to be messed about with.

daveyno9, I tried to back off Sinemet and Requip. The 2nd week of stepdown was a nightmare, and I was a mess! I feel like I am a strong person and can usually do what I set my mind out to do; but I failed....just couldn't do it.

Good luck to you

Cheri :)

From what I have seen once you start taking meds there's no going back .

I have seen the odd one or two who have not taken any thing .

some times I wish I hadn't , But when the drugs work't I had a good ten years.

Its only when you start having problems. Ask your self this How long have I been taking them. and how long have they been a problem ?
