Does this happen to you ?
I find if I take my tablets before eating and they do not kick in, which happens regularly, they usually, but not always, do when I have eaten, I try to take my tablets at regular intervals, whether I need them or not. I quite often find my tremor returns after taking my meds. even if it was not there before taking them. I just cannot figure out how Parkinsons works, it always seems to be one step ahead of me. It certainly does not take any prisoners.
I do not have tremor but ab dystonia. My neuro told me to take meds (sinemet) then eat so if having a big meal I take meds whether on schedule or not. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't kick in, sometimes it's too much and I'm flaying and doing my Monte Python silly walk. The meds have to be absorbed in digestion and then traverse the blood brain barrier. Gotta be a better way!
If the meal has a lot of protein in it, it can adversely effect the efficacy of your medication. I usually eat nonprotein foods throughout the day and save the meat meal for evenings, when I am going to be less active.
