So I wanted to try shrooms as much out of interest if anything. I’d heard about new neural pathways being created for starters and fancied a new possibility of experience.
Didn’t go great if I’m being honest: took it as a tea. My hands went fuzzy but that was about it. I went to bed and was conscious of being hot and dyskinetic despite not having overdosed on Madopar as far as I know. I began to be cross that I’d got heartburn, that there was so much traffic on the road outside my house following a diversion that sent ‘A’ road traffic down my little lane, that I’d got PD and that I couldn’t find a pair of headphones that had any charge. After about two hours I admitted that it wasn’t working and got up. Another experience that turned to *hit like everything I try lately. Thought I’d understand the fabric of the universe, but seems it’s keeping its secrets close to its chest!
Unsure if Parkie meds interfered or if a full stomach can sabotage. I won’t keep this post on for too long for obvious reasons. Message me privately me if you have any observations
:/🙄. Thanks 🙏

So you don't know whether they were button or crimini mushrooms you just put in your salad, mushrooms with some support for growth hormone (Lion's mane), or psychotropic mushrooms (ergotamine classes). One way to tell common mushrooms from mushrooms for special psychoactive purposes (the only kind you want, and in this case, such as those that produce psilocybin) is price. No way you get something actually psychoactive ( what you're looking for) if it didn't cost you half of your house... I'm exaggerating just attempt to make the point.
They're used in Australia healthcare for depression. But they're administered under supervision of nurses. It's likely a tricky thing finding the best type and dosage without professional help, which you won't find in the UK.
If I were really your friend, I would keep the expensive stuff for myself, get some dried mushrooms in the grocery store and put them dry in a grinder real quick or a blender and then give you those. Saves me big money and you'd never know the difference, plus it would be healthier for you if I intervened. (Not that I've ever done that of course... But if I ever did, it would have been more than 30 years ago anyway and statute of limitations is expired by then...)
Kudos for trying. My only experience was 40 years ago at a cool dance club where laughter and dancing were enhanced and lots of fun. Well before all the trials of adulthood and PD.
I'd be afraid to attempt now unless medically supervised,
New neural pathways? There is science suggesting that?
I took about 3 grams and it was an experience. Don't know if I created any neural pathways but did recognize the presence of the entity in the mushroom. That, and the full blown hallucinations, made it worthwhile.
Do you take antidepressants (specifically SSRIs)? They greatly suppress the effects.
Full stomach is not a great idea. If you wanted to attempt again, I would also have a plan of "I'm going to read this art book" or "I'm going to sit in my private garden"... something visually compelling to you (not moving pictures). Start low moderate with dosing and don't go up if you don't feel anything, just plan a nice quiet day for yourself of relaxing and see how it goes. I would also pay attention to the things that irked you last time and think of counter measures that help you feel comfy in general, nice blankets, music, etc.
First, teas kinda suck. You want to take them , powder them and mix them in lemon juice. This converts the psilocybin to the usable form the brain can use. Psilocybin only combines with SR 2 receptors. Luckily it's not a dopamine antagonist. Soak in the lemon juice for about 20 minutes. Then drink. Now weee you wanting to microdose or go on a journey? If your were looking to try them for neurogenisis keep your doses below 1 gram. You just want to get the brain to illicit a response. Once you drink down the mix find a nice quiet spot to see how it effects you. DO NOT GO DRIVING till you fully understand how your going to react. Also add lions mane mushrooms to your daily stack. Do not go over a gram per dose, no more than 2 doses per day. Then go 2 weeks on and 1 week off. May want to start at 250mg and work up to 500mg. Any amount over 1 gram could result in an experience you didn't want. The best way to try for neurogenisis is the Staments Stack. Psilocybin and Lions Mane together... look into the Staments Stack and really dive into microdosing.
Thanks so much for this generous sharing of information. I’ve gotta be honest, yesterday knocked my confidence a little in that I got pretty bad dyskinesia during the experience. I’m unsure whether I want to repeat it but if I do, I’ll be sure to follow your advice.
We are here to support each other. Just remember keep your psilocybin dose low . 250mg . I don't see what caused the dyskinisea. Good luck! Let me know if you try again.
Kaypeeoh just responded in general but not so that you would get a copy... He requests instructions for taking capsules and making them into a tea. Can you answer that one? (I would second that request.)
I think your full stomach neutralized most of the effects. It’s supposed to be taken on an empty stomach. I’ve had some positive results with reduced hand stiffness and overall positive outlook on life but it lasted few months. Trying microdosing stack now and feel it gives some of that positivity but nothing much on stiffness yet.
I have started microdosing psilocybin. It makes me feel more calm and more considerate/ understanding of others needs. I’m just at the beginning, took only 3 micro doses , every 3 days I got them in Amsterdam in a smart shop , it’s inexpensive and safe . Will see how it goes. I can’t take them in the morning anymore, because it makes me feel spaced out , even though the guy in the shop told me it will make me more creative and will give me more focus.
If you don't know it already, look up Paul F. Austin's The Third Wave. He's an expert and there's a really good community there where you can ask questions and debate. It's focused on microdosing. thethirdwave.co/
