Ozzy at Birmingham!

Just heard Ozzy Osbourne is doing a farewell benefit with most of Black Sabbath for three charitable beneficiaries: two children's charities and a Parkinson's. I did not catch the date and time.

My theory is that Ozzy has PD because of a life time of bad "music."😜

Doesn't say much for Sharon's taste either. And I bet they don't eat chicken much in that household either.

Chicken? No, bats! 🦇

Yes. I'll just give to the charities direct as long as I don't have to listen to him.

This is not the first time I've seen Ozzy mocked here for having PD, and I don't get it. Speaking as someone who has gotten a lot of enjoyment and even a little money out of playing his music for appreciative crowds (I have been the guitarist in several bands that have covered Ozzy's music over the years), I take issue with both your musically illiterate comments and your apparent decision that it's ok to cut certain people out of the herd of Parkies to be mocked for having the disease that we all share. Ozzy has provided a stage for several of the most remarkable guitarists of the era, and back when my hands still worked I spent many pleasurable and sometimes frustrating hours trying to master their techniques. When you can play a Randy Rhodes solo note for note, come talk to me about your opinion of Ozzy Osbourne's music.

Does anyone know how Ozzie’s stem cell treatments are working out?

I don't believe that there is a legitimate, proven stem cell treatment available at this time.

True, but he had it done a number of months back. I was just wondering what his experience was.

Correct, there is not one. Last month we did have notice of something that looked potentially very promising and potentially realistic and sounded like it could be applicable... someday.

I grew up listening to that kind of stuff. I don't think people are knocking him for having PD. I think they're maybe making a connection between the rage he was constantly expressing and the PD. He's brilliant but certainly not everyone's cup of tea. And I can certainly appreciate Randy's chops. Those who don't, well they're missing out. But I do think there's something to be said for the connection between PD and the ramping up of our nervous systems on a regular basis.

Do you really suppose I, a pwp, would mock a pwp???

Maybe his PD came from his biting the head off a live bat?

MarionP profile image
MarionP in reply toMBAnderson

Okay I'm confused, I thought it was a chicken. If it was really a bat, who did the chicken? Marilyn Manson maybe?

Plus, I wonder what the heck I was on when I got it wrong... because usually I can tell the difference between a chicken and a bat. Do you know? 🙄

Or a doves head or two...kiisfm.iheart.com/content/2...

I guess some people seek more attention than most and do anything to get it.

Or perhaps just very hungry.

Good grief. I hadn't known of that. Apparenly, he didn't get enough attention from his mother and some people will do anything for $$.

From the link.

"He later recalled pulling the stunt with the two doves just to shut up a publicist who was boring him. After spitting the head of the second dove onto the table, Ozzy was thrown out of the building."

I don't think Ozzy is too worried about it. I like his music, it's very rowdy stuff! That's why I put up this note. Lots of theater. But I wouldn't take it home to meet the folks if you know what I mean. Plus I like Birmingham. Do The Moody Blues still have their store there? Like Sharon too, very spunky. But if others don't like his music, that's not a knock on them, I like his music but that doesn't make it good. Has nothing to do with anything. Personally he's not in the ride home about, but again, so what? And he likes controversy, that's his thing, the more noises made about him, the more money he makes and that's why he does it. And having PD is not a banner of pride or accomplishment either, doesn't make me feel special or anything, it's a pain in the neck, not a flag to wrap myself in.

please stop folks! This forum is a unique and special place without carping bickering and personality clashes, and where the only differences of opinion are on scientific issues relevant to the curse of PD. Let’s not descend to the level of comment that deters the posting of contributions for fear of being criticised. Pax vobiscum.
