A success with Adaptive DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation)

DBS has always intrigued me. But the idea of drilling into my skull put me off. I just read something about implanting a battery in the brain. It's still DBS but unlike the older form it takes three hours not six. And the battery stimulates the brain to make GDNF. I understand intense exercise will make GDNF form. But how does it get into the brain? How does GDNF cross the BBB? I must assume exercise makes GDNF inside the brain.. A read a study of using exercise and monitoring the DAT scans of the brain. The study showed exercise improving the DAT levels. So it's making new brain tissues.
I just had a checkup for PSA; Prostate Specific Antigen. It says my levels are still low and I'm in no danger of prostate cancer. My dad and grandad each died of prostate cancer. So I assumed it would get me too. But this DBS remedy makes me hopeful that I will live forever.
I've been going to Hartford Health in Mystic, Ct for the past 3 years. I was there recently for a prostate blood test and noticed a large ad on the wall about DBS for PD. I remember last year the docs were using DBS of Benign tremor but not PD. So maybe it's time to ask my doc about DBS.
