More on the Beech Band
Thanks so much for sharing!
Truly brilliant that Carl Beech, one of life's good guys, has discovered this. If it lives up to its potential, this device will be accessible for all rather than the 'desperate customer' special mark up price that we see so often with new gadgets.
<3 brilliant; hopeful
It looks extremely promising to me, and I will certainly buy one. Given the price I've paid for quack gadgets and snake oil, finding anyone who wants to produce a gadget for as little as possible is refreshing. In the meantime, I thought I'd share something that helps me at least a bit. I found a metronome with haptic feedback on the iOS app store. I installed it on my Apple watch and set it to 70 bpm. I have a mild to moderate left thumb tremor, and it seems to be having at least some effect on my ability to type. It might be a placebo, but I am sharing in the hope that it isn't. I did contact Carl Beech about it - who messaged me right back. He said it wouldn't hurt to 'give it a go,' but none of the existing apps they tried worked as well as their band. As I say, I'll definitely buy the band, but maybe this is something to try in the meantime.
I m PD patient from India since 2019. Was very impressed by this podcast. Very keen to buy this device. Can you please guide me how to connect with whom to get this device.
If you watch this podcast it is almost astounding how this band works. It reminds me of the video that came out and The Today Show segment about the Parkinson's gloves. We all had so much hope for that but so far there's been a little movement or progress. How is it that things can look so amazing in videos and then we never hear about them again or they turn out to not really work?
I share your frustration - although I'm confident this device will be available soon, the guy seems very credible 🙂🤞
