Hi looked for post on PD and root canals and did not find one. I just had one against my better judgement because it had an abscess and it made my PD worse so getting it extracted. What thoughts/experience on root canals and PD?

ROOT CANALS & PARKINSONS
I have had a root canal done with no problem. On the other hand, I did have a tooth with an abscess and the dentist said it needed to be extracted. He did not offer a root canal on that occasion.
Just has 2 root canals done and did not notice any adverse effects from the procedure.
Earlier this year I had 6 root Canal done over 3 months no problem

Not a root canal but I had part of a tooth broken off and needed repair. I had issues with epinephrine in the anesthesia. Set off tremors badly, which I don't usually have. There are options without epi in the anesthesia. You might ask for. I also had issues with choking (aspiration) and I became concerned about water and debris entering my lungs. They frequently had to stop and let me take breaks so I could swallow. My next visit I will request to not be lying all the way down but to elevate me at a 45 degree angle and to frequently use suction tools to prevent aspiration. I found this information from a dentist online but didn't save the website. I only saved a portion to share with my dentist on my next visit:
Airway protection, such as the use of rubber dam, should be considered given the impaired swallowing reflexes in this patient population. This will also minimize the risk of pulmonary aspiration of saliva and debris. To manage salivary secretions during restorative treatment, additional suction behind the rubber dam is beneficial Along with frequent rests for the patient. During treatment, the chair should not be reclined more than 45°. In advanced stages of Parkinson’s disease, the chair may need to be kept upright during treatment and the chin in a tucked position.
The last time I read the Huggins Protocol ; it said to have an oral surgeon clean up the cavitation. You can read about Dr. Hal Huggins online.
watch out for the antibiotics they give you too. there are known ones that cause/worsen pd.
Notquiite related, but I've had 3 implants done and have the first phase of a 4th one. I have noticed no difference in PD symptoms.
Dr Mischley also talks about dental issues being relevant in pd. I have had tons of dental work since I was little and am certain it played a role in me getting pd. Your teeth are very close to your brain and as we age, the bbb becomes more permeable.
