Hello! I hope it’s OK to post this and it is a little long but I think it’s great to know about.
Free for Parkinson’s folks looking for help with speech:
Shenandoah University (Leesburg, Virginia campus), will hold ten weekly speech sessions every semester for Parkinson’s sufferers who live in Arizona, California, and Virginia. The sessions start in January and are in-person or virtual; there are no licensing restrictions for virtual attendees from other countries. Sessions will be conducted by experienced university speech program grad students led by Myra Schatzki, speech-language pathologist and director of education at the Shenandoah communication sciences and disorders division. She is licensed in the Parkinson's Voice project SPEAK OUT!, an evidence based method of speech training. The program is effective with speech and swallowing for Parkinson’s patients.
