those that are against assissited suicide need to walk a mile in my shoes
IMHO, you shouldn't have posted it. Give hope instead. . .
I feel this is also an important discussion to have for those of us who are too old to be saved by a cure. (If you are in your 60s and/or keeping healthy, you still have reason to hope.) However, some of us are facing the final end stage of not being able to move or talk, yet being aware mentally. I cannot imagine anyone wanting to live like that. I don't and am trying to plan accordingly.
It is a very individual decision, and they know it--no need to remind them. I am not young, neither my PD hubby is, and although progression is unavoidable, we try to make every day as livable as possible. God will decide on our future!
Thank you mbanderson. I will say it again. Some people need to walk in someone else’s shoes and not judge. Pd affects everyone differently, some worse than others
Talking about it doesn't help either. Perhaps, a lot of PwP are in your shoes, but they don't think like you. Again, it is an individual choice. Don't spread pessimism.
