Findings indicate that smoking may even worsen both motor and non-motor symptoms in PD. Smokers had more problems with drooling, swallowing, freezing, unexplained pains, memory problems, and feelings of sadness.

my hubby has such a severe aversion to smokers that if we sit down to have a picnic at a park bench and their is a butt on the ground he can’t eat he is so repulsed. So I think it might be that people who don’t want to smoke annd anre repulsed by it are also the same type to get parkinsons, rather than the actual smoking preventing it.

Read what it said - if you have PD, but many of us are in the prodromal phase and nicotine could be a major factor in delaying, slowing or stopping the progression. Nuerogenisus and short term memory are two scientifically proven benefits of nicotine. Yes, once motor issues manifest, it could be beyond the capacity of nicotine as a singular therapy. Now as we know in double blind trials, they never do anything in combination. Maybe in combination with diet, fasting, exercise, prebiotics and probiotics nicotine could have a major impact. I dose 3mg nicotine daily in my water. I have a complete daily regiment of food, exercise, fasting and suppliments and I have stopped my nightly iRBD events as verified by sleep device and motion activated video camera. The secrete to PD is to stop it before it gets to the muscle stage. Early identification is KEY. If you catch it in time, just maybe we can slow it so it has no effect on life expectancy. Keep sharing what you find as we can all learn.

You can’t really compare nicotine to cigarettes because cigarettes have so many added chemicals and it’s not just the nicotine nicotine is in potatoes, tomatoes, and cauliflower to name a few

Here a more balanced view of the evidence on this:

Smoking includes something like 2500 carefully crafted chemicals in addition to the nicotine. So clear definition of terms is very important... "Nicotine" does not equal xsmoking.x also nicotine is one of the very most addictive substances known, and so you really don't want to experiment with it unless you plan to get hooked in the process of testing it, and have to deal with getting off it.

Nicotine without the smoke is available as gum, lozenges, patches, and chewing tobacco. And I guess vaping but again, what other chemicals are involved so I was to be comparing apples to apples? I have no idea what additional chemicals are part of the chewing tobacco formulation.
