I know some may not think it's related to PD, but others will see how it is indeed quite relevant. Feel free to comment here or to me privately because this is an internal monologue I have been having, and would prefer to make it a dialogue. Plus it's written by a fellow "parkie".open.substack.com/pub/garys...

THIS!
Sorry, he lost credibility as soon as he said uk prime minister (liz truss) was cutting taxes to help the poor uk citizens.
She actually wanted to cut taxes to help the super rich. That would have to have been paid for by reducing spending on public services like the nhs. Not good for parkinsons.
How do any of us know the intentions of public figures?
The same way you would judge anyones, or any organisations intentions -by their previous history of actions and words.
I don't know that this is always a good bar meter since our judgements are based not only on other's actions but also on our own BELIEFS about those actions.
I really did not fully understand the article. It seems to be saying the author has woken up to the fact that we cannot trust anything or anyone ( including medical professionals) anymore. My solution is to trust in God/Jesus/Highest Power. Love him above all. Get to know Him. Ask for help to do His will. Then before making medical decisions pray and wait for a signal on how He wants you to think and act. Accept even PD and offer your suffering to Him. With loving trust. Then praise Him and thank him no matter what, resting in the firm faith that He will eventually get you to heaven. Seek out people of faith to help you with this.
Could you quote the text where he says this? I did not get that from this blog post.
This quote “How we are now just spare body parts (literally in the case of profit making blood and organ harvesting, and unnecessary extractive surgeries) to feed The Medical System and The Healthcare System. That these systems no longer serve us, but we are now born to service them, was made very clear during the lockdowns. We were literally told to give up our lives, health and wealth to "Save the National Health System". A system whose original purpose was supposed to be the saving of our lives and the ”
Melanie, I agree that there are people in the world driven by greed and some performing evil acts. However, there are also many good people in the world. I find for my own mental health that I fare better when I seek out and focus on the good in the world. It definitely helps if you live in a community where you feel that most of your neighbors are basically good human beings. None of us are perfect. There's the expression "You are what you eat". I believe we are also changed by what we choose to think about. Chris
I hear you. The thing is, I don't actually believe there is such a thing as a good or bad person. I have learned that everyone without exception intends to influence a beneficial outcome. And the way our systems were built set us all up, without exception, to do things that are completely out of our internal integrity. I simply don't think it's possible to survive in the world the way it currently is without compromising one's integrity. Yes, even Hitler had good intentions. In his mind he was cleanisng the world!!! And families like mine suffered greatly as a result of a huge army of people joining him in his BELIEF. Same goes for basically any other situation where it may seem like people are either good or evil.
This is just my own perspective after wrestling for a few decades with this concept of "human nature" and the idea that the systems and we build operate to set up an environment where people feel they have no choice but to survive at the expense of others. I think I need to start a blog or something ... basically I am saying that I believe everyone is doing the best they can given their situation.
I think the question is whether a person is doing the best they can for themselves or for others or both. There are those on one hand who give themselves over to helping others for little or no personal gain. I know some like this. Are they baď folk ?
Then there are sociopaths who are insatiably greedy for wealth and/or power at any cost to others. Then there are some who have an enjoyment of càusing pain. Are they good folk?
Then there are the majority in the middle.
The question I personally ask is why are they doing or not doing these things ultimately. This "personal gain" concept can be very misleading and quite misguided as well. For me it's important to look for root causes. Otherwise I just chalk everything up to people being greedy or bad somehow and it causes me to have some kind of ego boost as if I am morally superior to others. And that does not seem to help my relationships or my world in any way.
Compared to people who continually are stamping on others for endless gain, I'd suggest you may be morally better.
Why would you have relationships with crazies
Ah. That's trickier, you can't choose family.
especially when you have become their legal guardian
