October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Domestic violence has deep roots in child abuse and neglect. I have nothing to be ashamed of - these are my traumas along with abandonment. I was set up. “Generational trauma is the harmful effects of historical mistreatment or abuse. The symptoms of these traumas are passed down from generation to generation.” October is domestic violence month. My younger sister and I were both victims of domestic violence. So was our mother. My sister was murdered. I survived. I'm the poster child for trauma. I got out of that marriage. Unfortunately, divorce doesn't end abuse. Even now almost 30 years later, it still affects my children and our relationship, and the trauma is revived.

This ties in to my research on psychoactive mushrooms and the potential to heal emotional trauma. The common denominator for people who recovered from ALS is healing emotional trauma - it's an under recognized source of neuroinflammation. This is also true for Parkinson's disease.

Sounds like you've lived through some terrible times. I agree that unresolved trauma is a big factor in PD. I have a fair bit in my past too and a lot of nervous system dysregulation; am exploring the ways to unwind it without sending it into further stress. You're walking a courageous path, breaking from the ancestral line of abuse. Wishing you well.

PS are you planning on taking mushrooms solo, or on having psychadelic-assisted psychotherapy? IFS (Internal Family Systems) is wonderful for that, and many practitioners are now training in psychadelics such as mushrooms as well as having trauma training.

I had a few sessions of K assisted psychotherapy, found them to be profound as well as fascinating!! Yes, healing. But unwinding trauma without further stress is a very smart way to go. .

How interesting! I'm also interested in MDMA, but literally none of this is legal here in the UK. That said, lots of friends collect mushrooms! But I don't think I have the stability in my system to take them at the moment. I am trained in IFS, and I do hear great things about psychadelic-assisted IFS. Something for the future maybe.

It was quite a while ago. I don't think I'd do it now, fir the same reason.
