are you going to look into getting the seed assay done that he discusses to get the PD diagnosis? or have you already done the skin biopsy?
i haven't done either and I'm not sure if I'm going to ... I already know have PD and as you watched from the video the ONLY thing that docs are recommending is: DIET and EXERCISE.
Well today is day #496 of my O.M.A.D. diet (one meal a day with all calories eaten within a 2 hour window).
It's my effort to "heal my gut."
It ain't working.
Since my self-diagnosis on June 20, 2021 (left thumb had a tiny tremor for several seconds) ... I've done a MILLION things to stop or slow the progression.
Since May -- my thousands of INTERNAL tremors have reached into my hands ... and in the last two weeks when I hold a spoon/fork ... I see a continuous tiny, tiny tremor that shakes my hand.
As for "exercise" -- I have a very bad left hip which greatly restricts my cardio work. So I bought some "heavy ropes" from Amazon ... FANTASTIC exercise! ... But it brought back my left hip sciatica (and it shoots into my ankle).
As least I "think" it was the heavy ropes ... could also be my stationary bike.
We all have problems on this forum. Mine are miniscule compared to the ones I read about.
There are a lot of brave souls on this forum.
p.s. Overall I'm very confident that science will come up with something soon.
personally rather than sitting through an hour long presentation I would like to just see an article that summarizes the highlights of this presentation
Yes. Same here. Much prefer having some remarks first.
It seems like the youtube presentations are so wordy that you are waiting for the important information and you listen so long that you start thinking about something else and then you miss the important points
They are financially remunerated (their formal term is "monetized") by youtube in no small amount by the length of time they hold your attention (plus the number of views, subscriptions and "likes"). Seems like anything is fair, whether excessive, unnecessary, or extremely lengthy background and introduction, repitition and chatty-ness, all the way toward holding the "good stuff" at arm's length for as long as possible, like a carrot, until the very end. Anything to get the clock time up and keep you from leaving too soon.
I know what you mean! I usually watch most youtube videos sped up. If you click the gear icon in the lower right corner of the video, you can set the playback speed to 1.25 or 1.5. This makes the video zip along more quickly and that helps to hold my attention.
I also turn on subtitles, so I can do other things while I listen to the audio. If I hear anything interesting, I'll check the screen and read what they just said.
it’s interesting the number of PWP have issues with hips and knees. Is that caused by uneven gait wearing one side more. Or is there something about a problem joint that exacerbates the PD. Or a coincidence.
i honestly think that is 'one' symptom that is NOT PD related ... with me.
I think it is severe arthritis of my hip caused by long-term obesity (100+ pounds more than my high school weight).
With my O.M.A.D. (one meal a day diet and all calories eaten within a 2 hour window) -- I've lost 50 pounds .... but cannot seem to lose another ounce -- So (for now) I've stopped counting calories (and counting my olives ... cherries ... etc.)!
It's either extend my fasting (a "36 hour fast" seems to be a consensus ideal from YouTube health pros) ... or reduce calories (at one point I was 1000-1400 daily) ... or greatly reduce carbs .... or try the KETO diet ... or some combination of these...
I can tell all of you reading this ... You won't believe how EASY it is to do O.M.A.D. once you get rolling (today is day #496)! .... And I figure, roughly that I have skipped well over....
.... 2,000 meals!
