Musk and Tesla have multiple issues with their cars and some are major safety issues that have not been resolved.

A 5 star rating from any organization does not make the Tesla safety and quality control issues just go away. They exist and have existed for some time with no solutions yet. That is a track record that speaks for itself.

the NHTSB is 'the' gov't regulator for auto safety

if there were any imminent safety threats there would be a RECALL of all Teslas to pull them off the road.

ALL autos have safety issues to some degree or another.

And people (like me) who buy Teslas are affluent and generally -- smarter.

We've done our homework and shopped around.

Tesla remains the #1 electric vehicle in the world for good reasons.

In fact... it is the #1 auto maker in the WORLD. Period.

Tesla's market cap is 670 BILLION.

Ford? 49 billion

Mercedes? 82 billion

Toyota? 238 billion

You can use all the agencies and stats that you want, but it does not change the fact that Elon Musk has not resolved the quality and safety issues with his cars. If he takes that same approach with working on peoples brains, there will be serious problems.

This stuff is not groundbreaking. Neuralink is more than a decade behind eg Blackrock Neurotech who have been implanting BCIs for years.

Musk is pretty much the last person I would want as a CEO/leader of a medtech or biotech: the slightest acquaintance with his record should tell you why.

i don't know why some of you here are berating Musk .... He single-handedly changed the auto market -- globally. ... He's got SpaceX adventures into outer space ... and his Boring Company is helping cities (like Las Vegas) reduce traffic congestion.

I see so many people on this forum suffering from PD (I am not officially dx'd).

So WHY would any of us criticize the RICHEST PERSON ON EARTH from spending his money to HELP us???

After all these years and they’re still treating PD with Levo/Carb, and even with MJF Foundation couldn’t come up with anything new. I’m thankful for anyone that willing to try and research for a cure for this debilitating disease.

At every turn he lies and spins. Robotaxis. Cybertruck. Doge. At bottom, he lacks seriousness and has profoundly questionable ethics. He treats regulators with contempt - attend to his dealings with the NHTSA - and will attempt the same with the FDA.

He will be a danger. No question.

I have been a medtech investor for many years and can assure you he is utterly unsuited to the very serious business of safely and ethically bringing medical products to market.
