My RBD is better than it was 18 months ago. Mine was never too bad but I did fall out of bed once in a while, threw a pillow once, and hit the wall a few times and more often kick at people I was fighting with.

I don't fall out of bed anymore, have not hit anything or thrown anything. Might have kicked once in the last 6 months. Mostly just move a little once in a while. I did bump the wall reaching up to block a shot (I was guarding the 3 point line) last week but it was nothing violent.

I'm not sure if I am better because I went ahead and retired and de-stressed my life or if it is due to my stack: rbd-pd-protocols.blogspot.c...

Good luck.

7.5 mg of mirtazapine?

I found gaba to be very effective. It is an amino acid that works like a shield against intrusive impulses. I take 300 mg at bedtime as needed or up to 600 mg at 2 am when my sleep was most disrupted. It's been a life-saver prescribed by an endocrinologist when I was being woken by tension attacks in the early hours.

Does your neurologist agree with this prescription? My husband took clonazepam for a couple of years. It never really worked. He is getting worse (needed a bed rail installed to prevent falling out and a barrier inbetween us). Have you tried magnesium or light therapy?

I haven't asked my neurologist about gaba because she doesn't diversify. Gaba is just a supplement. I also take magnesium but haven't tried light therapy. My focus is on chelating mercury with alpha lipoic acid according to the Andrew Cutler protocol, which my neurologist doesn't know about. I'm thankful that I'm sleeping well now.

Bolt is our local RBD expert and a really good dude. What have you tried? Melatonin has been the biggest help for me. I take 10mg of “remfresh” brand every night before bed. It is supposed to be a steady slow release.

Yes. I have just about eliminated it through a very specific diet

If you want to try a non pharma solution: Dr. Wayne Markman of symbyxbiome.com just reported results from a study with SYMBYX laser devices and helmets, that most PD patients reported significantly improved sleep

So does Wellred Coronet

Super interesting about the use of laser devices/helmets for REM sleep disorder. My HWP has the sleep disorder as well and he has improved greatly in his movements and talking at night for the past few months. I thought maybe it was because I give him magnesium in the evening ( I like the L-threonate type and try to give it with D3) since that is supposed to help RLS (restless leg syndrome). But! He also has been doing the VieLight Duo and X-plus light therapy devices since last July and now I'm wondering if that is why? If anyone tries the magnesium, which we all probably should be on since mag is so depleted from our soil, you can also use Mag Oil to rub on our feet for better absorption. I like the Life Flo brand. Thanks for all the good info everyone and blessings to each of you.

My husband is very violent during rem sleep. Did you ever discover whether it was the magnesium or the light therapy that helped your husband?

Well, I cannot say what has helped more. So sorry! But for sure try the magnesium in both forms. The mag oil can itch a bit, but I just use it on the bottom of our feet as on the legs it can irritate a bit, but I have been told that adding it to lotion helps that. Good luck! You may want to research other light therapies and I recommend the book Near Infrared and Red light Therapy by Mark Sloan as a starting place. Best of luck, and for many things, trust Your Self! We all have that innate knowledge - we are just not too good at listening to our Selves.... Blessings!

clonazepam 2mg at night calms dreams down, I still move around and shout but only very occasional throw myself out of bed
