Hopefully I spelled it right. Doctor google says it's over-production of sebum: skin oils. Causes flaking skin, rash, often around the nose. What about pimples under the scalp? Nothing on my face but using my finger tips I can count 7 or 8 pimples. They come-and-go. Google says it's part of, "Nervous system conditions, such as Parkinson's disease..." Lots of 'age spots' on my forehead but I guess that happens when you're 67. Is dandruff shampoo the best I can do for the pimples?
TIA,
KPO

Oh boy. Welcome to the scalp misery club. My symptom —and I can’t spell it either LOL— my scalp is itchy constantly. There are new dry shampoo days now.
It’s strange because it can feel dry and itchy but yet it’s got the oil factor going in there too. Nothing helps totally but I did get shampoo from the doctor: 1% ciclo...I can read the label better if you need me too and a topical steroid. If you’re comfortable with that kind of thing that might help you more.
I read an article by a supposed health and beauty expert that said we should shampoo three times and then thoroughly rinse. This person was talking about the build a problem with products. But that might contribute also she said that mineralized water makes it worse, I suppose because of pore clogging. Lovely. And of course people recommend all sorts of natural rinses like apple cider vinegar etc. I was using a lot of dandruff shampoo is also but I cut back. I almost think it made it worse in the long run, plus the shampoos made my hair dry and brittle. Now I rotate and type shampoo probably hits every 10 days. I wish I had better advice or information.
Oh, dietcall him but I think from seeing your posts you have a good diet. I don’t always and that doesn’t help.
"It has been reported that patients with severe acne and HS have lower serum zinc levels than the healthy population [5–8]. Moreover, SD-like dermatitis has also been reported to be associated with zinc deficiency [9,10]. Among many functions, zinc also plays a role in some of the biological processes that contribute to the development of SD. However, no reports are available investigating serum zinc levels in patients with SD."
I can definitely relate to this including very itchy scalp and a kind of sand paper feel to forehead skin plus random and occasional pimples to areas of scalp. I did bring back some Aloe vera 100% oil from Lanzarote and that has made an improvement to the scalp
Thanks for all replies. Your response presupposes the root problem is a fungal infection. None of the doctors have made that suggestion. I didn't mention that I'm treating this with AHT: auto hemo therapy. This is an old remedy. Dr Maora in YouTube tells a story about severe acne cured by AHT. It's too early for me to be sure but 3 days after an AHT treatment the scabby spots under my hair seem smaller.
