It is certainly one of the causes. There are many household chemicals that are neurotoxic, plus any household cleaning and gardening products that should have been banned decades ago. There are several excellent references to guide us in choosing non-harmful products.

As for coffee - no it does not slow or prevent PD. In fact the inflammatory action via the adrenals can exacerbate symptoms while the acrylamide that forms as soon as beans are ground is carcinogenic.

I disagree. There are scientific studies showing that coffee has a beneficial effect on PD.

Thank you so much for posting this here! I have often wondered if the house I lived in for the last 16 years has given me PD. I just sent this info and advice to test the well water to the young couple who bought my house last year. I hope they will test for it.
