Very interesting real-world evidence study, had not seen ginko come up as frequently in this forum so was surprised to see that so high up on the list.

Obviously quite a few limitations on this dataset, dosage e.g. not captured and all patient reported outcomes but far better than a lot of the guesswork.

Melatonine was a bit of a surprise, might consider taking that out of my stack to replace with ginkgo for a while. Other than that, confirmation on my stack regarding NAD / CO Q10 (ubiquinol)

For some reason melatonin really fires up my HWP RLS type symtoms.

I’ve recently upped melatonin dose by 3mg a night from 15mg and the dreams are amazingly long and intricate. Might take some time to get used to the new dose.

"Nutraceuticals associated with improved outcomes were Ginkgo biloba (GB), NAD+ or its precursors, 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, glutathione, mucuna, CoQ10, low dose lithium, curcumin, homocysteine factors, DHEA, coconut oil, vitamin C, and omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil)."

Gingko produced the best symptom outcomes for PD patients. Can anyone here say that they noticed a difference after taking gingko biloba?

Thanks for this post Nedim, I read through the link and there were limitations of the study as there are with any type of vitamins, minerals or Neutraceutical additions to the diet as well as the people taking them. Quite a lot of the supplements are already taken by PD patients and it did mention in the discussion that the participants, more females than males, may also have gym membership and a good income so supplementation was not a monetary issue.

It also states that,

“This observational study has inherent weaknesses in the ability to control for quality of dosing, active ingredient quality and regularity of supplementation from recall bias and the self - reported nature of the study. In addition nutraceuticals brands are unregulated and therefore pose weaknesses in the ability to accurately determine the true effect of these nutraceuticals”

My husband has tried many of the above supplements so it definitely has to be a trial and error, some he keeps taking others stopped and some may have different effects depending if you have a deficiency.

My HWP still keeps up with his Red light Hat, less supplements, broccoli seed tea, cassia cinnamon, his Cue 1 and daily walking. Brain training on the PC and using table tennis on the Wii fit! Just added in qigong morning exercise too.

are there any wii fit alternatives that have not been discontinued by the manufacturer? In case of need for technical support.

I’m not sure about that. We have had ours for about 10 years or more so can only replace games on eBay or similar.

I would like a better copy of the above list to print out. Where can I obtain this scan?
