EDIT: I HAVE REPLACED THE VIDEO. There have been several posts regarding the progress of trials conducted by Inhibikase. Here's one of several recent interviews by CEO, Dr.Milton Werner, which gives me hope.

IkT-148009 is a potent small-molecule medication designed and engineered as a chronically administered oral medication that targets the underlying biological mechanism that leads to Parkinson’s disease. The goal of the medication is to halt and reverse the loss of function for dopamine-secreting neurons in the brain and GI tract.

Thanks. Is there evidence of the effectiveness?

If they just started dosing their first patient in a Phase 2a study, there would not yet be any evidence of efficacy.

it was very helpful in the animal models and is similar to gleevec but it can cross the blood brain barrier

inhibikase.com/about

Abl Kinases and Autonomic Nervous System Diseases

Parkinson’s patients experience a series of disorders that could be the earliest manifestations of the disease. These include difficulty in swallowing (dysphagia) and difficulty in passing solid waste (neurogenic constipation), difficulty in controlling heart rate and blood pressure, along with many other autonomic functions. These arise due to a loss of function in neurons inside or outside the brain necessary for these functions to occur. Our pre-clinical animal model studies suggest that it is possible to halt the progression of neurodegeneration inside and outside of the brain to restore normal autonomic function.

I got a lot more from the press release that nedim found (August 2022), then from the Milton Werner interview (June 2022?). There is also the study record on the Clinical Trials website.

I am not optimistic about inhibikase for myself due to what I see & hear in this video at the 47:12 mark. Dr. Warren Olanow remarks that 3-4 years after diagnosis of PD there are no dopamine terminals in the striatum left to be saved by the drug.
