1- I'm still working on how to increase my protein. I have read that my body can't absorb more than around 20-30 grams of protein at meal, although I've also read that it's not true, it just takes longer to digest a larger protein meal. But that's research mostly on younger folks (I'm 66). I've been losing some weight and I don't metabolize carbs well (glucose spikes), so I get HANGRY if I don't eat more in the AM. But protein definitely interferes with my meds which interferes with my exercise...
2- I understand that protein competes with C/L for absorption in the small intestine, but does it also compete at the blood brain barrier? If mostly the former, then a nice big mug of bone broth or pea protein in the am an hour after first med dose should help, but if it also competes significantly at the BBB then it could still be a problem?
I'm needing to shorten the time between doses (from 4 to 3 or 3.5 hrs.), so my window of opportunity is small.
Anyone who has looked into this and thinks they have answers, it would help me to get my daily schedule back together so that it works for me.
Thanks.... Rebecca

Rebecca- check out Ideal Protein. Their packets are used mostly in weight loss programs, but certainly can be used to add protein to your diet. Another product I use is Orgain Clean Protein from Costco. Good luck, hope this helps- JG
do you find it digests quickly and/or doesn’t interfere too much with meds? I tried pea powder and it interfered. I can either ran a non protein meal (mostly greens and berries smoothie) or a pea protein drink (but not too big), if I combine my meds are stopped in their tracks.
Thank you for your comment as I am struggling with the same. I always drink a huge glass of water after a shake. I am a big fan of Isagenix as the enzymes are intact in the shake, so the digestion is more complete and speedy. Sometimes though, you can still feel that darn food steeling some of your meds........So I have learned to occasionally take an extra 1/2 a pill if in an hour my response is wimpy.
You would think they could come up with subcutaneous pellets or something that includes a weekly injection like testosterone after the 50 plus years.!
All those years of trying to lose my chubby flanks.....:).
