Prior to February 2022 my PD symptoms were stiffness mainly in my head, neck and shoulders, right hand tremor. I contracted Covid that month and my PD symptoms went crazy, severe tremor all over my body, orthostatic hypotension passing out, I couldn’t walk more than a few steps. I had to stop working and was essentially bed ridden.
I wanted to share the things that are helping me get my life back.
If you have followed any of my posts you are probably aware that I am a big fan of using various forms of electrical stimulation to augment my return to function.
Base exercises 1. Specific Feldenkrais exercises chosen to address my specific functional deficits. I picked floor exercises based on a postural correction case study published by the Chiropractic Biophysics group. 2. John Pepper’s fast walking.
I do these exercises while listening to Bolt’s vestibular Binaural Beats mp3. I use bone conducting headphones based on studies that suggest skull vibration stimulates the vestibular system and that vestibular stimulation may improve balance and function in PWP.
This has improved my posture, balance and stiffness.
I use transcranial direct current brain stimulation tDC (the manufacturer says not to). This I believe reduces the “ratchety” movement in my arms and has reduced my anxiety.
Alternating stimulation in the median and radial nerves at the wrists and a Tremor ball.
Reduces the intensity of my tremors.
Best of all I’m back to work!!!
