A few days ago I saw a movement specialist. He saw stiffness in my left-side core and recommended stretches of my lower back and sacroiliac joint. I didn't do much and didn't notice anything at the time but this AM I'm sore from head-to-heel. Is this typical soreness to be expected in a 65yr old untrained body or is it PD? I prefer to think it's my lack of muscle tone and will improve if I continue the stretches.

Not all exercise fits everybody. Recently i tried a supposedly very gentle yoga...normally it overstretches me. This time it took me days to recover. It I do chi kung , feldenkrais or tai chi, no problem...go for something gentler to start with.. it shouldnt feel unhealthily painful
It’s difficult to find a happy medium, with stretching muscles, especially dealing with Parkinson’s Dystonia and stiffness. Slow and smooth, with stretching, is what I recommend!
I do LSVT which is large stretching movement almost every morning, and I sometimes wake up a little sore still. No worries, just part of it! Keep going and you'll be happy you did!
I also injured myself overstretching a year ago (ended up with a bad case of sciatica which has not completely resolved, but much better). The key is to stretch just slightly beyond your comfort level, but no more than that. It should feel gentle and comfortable.
