Yesterday I had an annual follow up with my Cardio Doc. I first saw him when I closed my clinic 3 years ago when I was so light headed that it was impossible to maintain a schedule.
He pursued various test that included a tilt table blood pressure test where they use nitroglycerin while going from supine to upright. I passed out earning the diagnosis of neuro-cardiogenic syncope. It is an autonomic dysfunction associated with PD.
I also pursued Psychologists which confirmed depression and anxiety. The combination of all 3 diagnoses allowed me to receive disability without an attorney.
Anyone else have similar experiences? Any solutions? Walking seems to help me the most.

my husband has orthostatic hypotension. I'm not sure how it correlates to your diagnosis. I will have to do some research there. Since he also has atrial fib, he takes digoxin and flourinef. He has cervical stenosis and between the documentation from his neurosurgeon and neurologist, he was awarded SS DBL on his first appl with no attorney.
I am a 44 yrs old physician. I have been suffering from all your complaints since adolescence. Lightheadediness, yawning, sleepiness dizziness pallor on standing and specially resting provoks sleepiness. I have never passed out in the common sense of the term. No palpitation or chest pain until this year. Best performence on active heavy duties and walling. Worsening on sitting for studying or reading. My career was adversely affected inspite of being known for fullness of energy. I had left the teaching hospitals and stopped teaching for medical students since november 2011 and now restricted to clinics. Chronic insomnia since childhood. Known for bad temper. For me this was all the time corelated with the fatigue spells and sense of sinking. Was diagnosed as anxiety and depressions 3 years back and received citalopram for 3 years with worsening of the insomnia. Having important ventricular ectopy on and until 6 months post citalopram withdrawal, I decided to consult an electro physiologist who believed in the possibility of NCS despite the lack of syncope. Tilt table test was positive without need for nitroglycerin but again no syncope but hypotension bradycardia nausea all preceded by intense sleeping tendency. Citalopram restarted at half the previous dose but restopped within 20 days again due to sever insomnia. I went through many papers and sites for questions about NCS but all insisted on syncope which made me suspicious about possibility of a false positive test but when I read your question i decieded to answer you as support for and myself as well.
Do you take any of the drug treatment modalities? If yes do you get the help you are looking for? Looking forward for your answer. Best wishes
Since I retired with disability from my PT private practice, I have had fewer episodes... probably less stress. In that my bp is relatively labile, the Doc's have not recommended the meds. Anti depressants have not worked for me in the past, but I was seen by a Psychiatrist recently who has put me on Emsam. It has only been a week since initiation. At times i feel it may be helping but it probably wishful thinking.
