Some people mentioned using the Nilotinib/Tasigna off label. Can anyone help me figure out how and where to get it cheap and safe. I like to try it. I heard it’s helpful for SCA patients. You can pm if you want to stay anonymous. Please help.

for all the stress that Parkinson's brings...I had bought vit B liquid complex for my husband who struggled with thinking he couldn't get in bed comfortably and would get back out and then back in over and over. After 3 months of daily recommended amount he could get in and sleep like a baby. Vitamin B complex is a must for Parkinson's disease as the sheathing supposedly wears off of the nerves and Vit B builds that sheathing back . That is what I was told. Well, something worked. Hope you find the help you need! Slowboy's wife.

After encouraging initial reports the trial results for nilotinib were disappointing. In addition this is a dangerous medication and must be taken under medical supervision. You should look for help via other means.

Interesting. They are doing a trial: Effect of Nilotinib in Cerebellar Ataxia Patients clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show...

park_bear is correct. Nilotinib can have some seriously bad effects. I have heard there are ways to get it off label.

Good luck.

I noticed the trial is for people that were already on Nilotinib or already planning on taking Nilotinib. That might show how dangerous the drug is, that they are not prescribing it as part of the study, but are just tracking people that were taking Nilotinib anyway.

I echo park_bear's comments. This is a dangerous drug. The people in the trial go thru extensive testing before they are admitted. Taking this on your own is a bad idea.

Nilotinib is being investigated for PD and AD [cerebellar ataxia and SCA].

Nilotinib is a c-Abl tyrosine kinase inhibitor which is used in patients with leukemia. It also appears to trigger intraneuronal autophagy to clear tau. Masitinib acts on mast cells as a selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor and a modulator of neuroinflammation.
