Thank you,
You must train yourself to consviously swallow regularly. It is an automatic action that no lnger waorks, so you have to take it over and get used to swallowing the salive
I’ve been prescribed Atropine - it’s a commonly off label use for reducing saliva production. A few drops under the tongue should do the trick I rinse my mouth often to minimise bacterial growth with the pooled secretions
A speech therapist helps if you’re having swallowing problems
And yes as the writer above mentioned - diligent swallowing practice is the best way to improve swallows
Best regards
Use clove oil. Place a drop or two on a Qtip and swab your tongue and mouth roof. Do this nightly before bed or morning.
I had to get used to never having an empty mouth. With me it is sugar free gum. Gives you something to concentrate on and to swallow automatically. Sadly it is a progressive disease and the problems I have seem to be mine alone. Dry eye, blepharitis and thick viscous saliva. I was at the dental hygienist yesterday (one way of liberating £120) and she said I was doing a grand job - nice pink gums not too much plaque and to keep up the good work. I did not tell her the good work includes a daily dose (2 tablets) of a product called "Plaque off human". Obviously works a treat. We first had it for our puss (Plaque off feline) who died with a mouth full of pearly whites. I now give it to our rescue dog who won't eat hard food. (Plaque off canine) Hubby declines as he reckons he takes enough meds. for his heart disease. Helps me - my NHS dentist thinks I do a good job too with my water pik spray and the uber expensive electric toothbrush and the interdental tooth brushes. Gone are the days when I could show the toothbrush to my teeth and say "That'll do" . Hey ho ! 76 and they are all my own choppers. No tooth ache, no sensitivity and only one crown which was all down to chomping on a hazelnut caramel.
Thank you for the information. 😀 Where can I find the Plaque for humans product?
eat pineapple. cheers!
